gamo air rifles

cabelas has an add for the bone collector air rifle kit on sale starting tomorrow for 200. there are lots of air rifles out there for less money. are you just paying for the bone collector logo or are they really worth the extra money?

I've never had a gamo. On the online forums folks claim they aren't any good. I'd imagine you would be paying for that logo more than anything. I think the benjamin/crosman are supposed to be another chinese air rifle with better quality control.
Personally I like Beeman and Diana RWS (Dynamit Noble). Be sure to read up on what you are buying though. Springer rifles are generally hold sensitive. Meaning you have to hold them a certain way to get consistency. Leaning on a tree or shooting from a porch rail will often throw them off. For the average hunting type fella I'd recommend the benjamin sheridan pump rifle. 17 for feathers 22 for fur. Not an overly powerful rifle but will take squirrels and rabbits at hunting ranges and opossum and raccoon up close. They are pretty accurate for target shooting as well.

ive had one gamo, it was an older one actually made by bsa of england and the quality was pretty good, i havent heard a lot of good things about gamos lately tho since they moved production. For $200 id definitely be looking at other guns, you can get some pretty nice air rifles for $200. I have a xisco 46 thats imported and tuned by mike melick of flying dragons air rifles thats a pretty sweet gun for just $225. Its 22 and hits like a ton of bricks, very accurate. Beeman and rws both respectable names as well.

You can get a Gamo for about half that price without the Cabelas logo on it.

There is no question that you can get "better" than Gamo, but for most they work just fine.

I like their "whisper" !

Gamo is the Savage Axis, Ruger American, Rem 770 of air rifles. A decent quality entry level springer. Want much better quality and actual resale value, RWS and Beeman.
