they didn't have a standard 7 rum to compare the 26 nosler too. they did have a board with 6.5x55,6.5/284, 264 win, 26 nosler to compare. all looked about same lengthy. the nosler guy was shocked when he found out a custom rifle maker at the show had a rifle in 26 nosler.

The long actions from the 270 winny up to the 300 rum are the same length, the bolt face is just different. An stw has about 100 gr of h2o capacity.

According to my friend who works for Nosler, the 26 Nosler is a necked down 375 Ruger...but I haven't been able to confirm that yet....case capacity (93g of water) seems to add up anyway...

I told the man from nosler that people been saying it was based on a 375 ruger and he said their was a lot of bad info going out about it. they really wanted to keep the parent case a secret as long as they could. this dummy round I seen was the same one they had at the shot show, marked 7mm rum.

Kinda, a Ruger M77 action will handle a 7mm Rem Mag but not the Ultra mags. I was under the impression the 26 Nosler was RM length not RUM.

Either way it's just a one off round that won't do anything a 264 Win Mag cant...

ruger made the mark 2 Magnum in 416 Rigby that is a longer case then the 7 rum. it's the same action only the stock is beaver and pulled bed and the barrel has express sights. the action length is the same as the 7mm rem.
