One of God's gifts to man. Yes, discontinued but you can find them on Auctions.

I have the Mod Seven LSS also and its a dream too.

Same barrel profile. I feel the 700 is thinner in width than the M-7 and in some ways feels better.

I'd like to add. Yes, the Laminate gives the rifle some class but don't let that sway you from the B&C stock. The laminate dings and scratches as bad as wood. You will quickly fall in love with the rifle with the B&C. You can always pick up a laminate off ebay sooner or later.

The r3 pad makes the 30-06 feel like a 30-30.

The laminates are heavy, switching to a B&C stock will cut some weight. Save the Laminate for show, they are pretty. Only thing better than an LSS Mountain would be a 700 Titanium.

The model seven is.hard to find in my neck of the woods New.or.used if a store.gets one.it don't last long. Vandals used gun rack in Hamburg pa usually has a.good selection of rem 700. That's where I got my mountain rifle in 7/08 at. It's about 2 1/2 he from.me I go once a year. I haven't seen many mountain rifles for sale at gun shows mainly people that get them keep them. I don't know where you live in va but if basspro or gander mountain is close to you they can order a new mountain ss for you.http://www.gandermountain.com/modper...Rifle&i=721290

Selling my M70 -06 w/ a VX3 to get one. Seems to be perfect for using a climber and trekking through the woods the way I do.

My model seven is the prefect rifle forstalking or carting a long ways. It is an older.one with 18" barrel. Put a synthetic stock on it and a 2-7 leuplod on it. Can carry it all day and don't know you have it. It is in 7/08. The model seven in synthetic is a.good.choice to look at if a short action is ok with you. The youth model has a 18" and the full size is 20" barrel.

I've had a Mtn LSS in 7mm-08 for years and it's been a perfect whitetail & hog rifle. It's put a lot of game in the freazer. I'm in the process of switching the barrel out for a 24" standard contour Bartlein SS cut rifling 7mm-08 barrel, having it glass bedded in a Boyds laminated stock, adding a Kepplinger single set trigger, and putting a Trijicon 3-9x40 on top.

It's going to be a little heavier than my original MTN LSS, but I do very little stalking anymore. Most of my hunting now is from a reaised blind so I'm not worried about the added weight. Hopefully it will retain the balance and handling that my MTN LSS had.

You can't go wrong with a MTN LSS! Good luck with your search. By the way, what caliber are you looking for.... I'll keep an eye out.

Hey Stickman
There are some Mountain LSS rifles listed at Armslist and at Gunbroker

Just do a search on "Mountain LSS"
