how much lube would it take inside the case to contaminate the whole charge enough that it would not go off?

I am not a reloader, but is all this discussion over a simple "miss fire" - It happens every blue moon.
At the range they have a medal box to drop them in.
Bigtime - In your case; make "the sign of the cross" and thank the good Lord !!!

I figured this would be the case. Iv had em not get a good strike. I was looking at buyin a sks off a guy i knew last summer. He handed me 100 round cheapo surplus ammo and a round fired but just the primer i believe i ejected it loaded the following round and before firing i noticed no bullet on the case. Cleared the mag and the bullet was just about 1/2 inch down the barrel the powder in the case was clumby and greenish. Took 20 minutes banging the rod down the barrel to remove the barrel. But the bullet bout bout a air hole in my head is the only one iv had not go at all with a good strike.
