I've always liked Bushnell scopes. They are still good quality scopes. I have no quams about putting a quility bushnell scope on a rifle.

I have a Bushnell Elite 3200 4-12X (about $275) on my 308 norma mag. It's a sweet scope. I like it as well as the Leupold Vari-X II.

Every Bushnell I've ever owned has served its purpose. They've all been crisp and clear. I only had problems with one, and it was an old Banner II.

The Bushnell Elite is a very good scope. I prefer this scope to the three that you mentioned. I actually prefer my Elite to the Nikon Monarch series, as well.

I would also take the elite over the other three.I have one on a muzzleloader that has performed well in spite of the recoil from 150 gr charges.Several friends also use them on 7mm mags and 338 mags and no problems have appeared.

If somebody likes the Bushnell Elite "as well as" the Leupold Vari-X II , then you'd think the Vari'X II would be the better buy. Considering the price they are asking for each of then, retail-wise, the Leupold
(especially in the gloss finish) is a greater value. But only IF they are of equal quality. I can speak only of the quality of the Leupold scopes, as I've never owned a high-end Bushnell. The Vari-X II Leupold's are a fine scope for the $$.

8mm, you're right the Leupold's are great scopes. The Bushnell's are just a little less expensive. The Elite's start at about $189 compared to about $250 for the Leupolds. I know the Vari X II is cheaper...because it's being phased out...but they're slowly getting harder to find. Cabelas and several other mail-order places are sold out.

Around here the Vari-X II's are scarce...Better grab em up if you can still find em for under $200! (Shoulda bought a couple when I saw em for $170!)
