Smith & Wesson M&P 45?

Anyone have one? Do you like it? How is the reliability and accuracy? I hear the trigger pull is stiff, thoughts? Thinking of getting one.

I don't have the .45 but I do have 2 M&P 40s - a std size and a compact. They both have decent triggers and are accurate. I don't see the .45 as being any different.

I have an M&P, but not in .45 acp. I like the trigger. It is at least as good as the trigger in my Springfield XD.

Have an M&P 40 here, and it has a great feel in my hands but the grip profile delivers a sharper recoil to the hand than say an XDM. Trigger is ok, frequently known to be gritty till they break in. Did a trigger kit, helped some, but trigger is nowhere near as good as an XDM with a powder river kit. Cant really comment on how the 45acp variant handles though.

I just went pistol shopping a month ago and was looking at a few smith and wessons. I def think the trigger is "tight" but personally I like it that way. I did not like how any of the smith and wessons felt in my hands. They are reliable durable and very popular guns. After shopping around for a .45 I made the choice to go with the beretta in a .40 cal and the FNX in .45 both are great guns and the price was right in relevance to how much the smith and Wesson was.

S&W is the undisputed king of revolvers. Their semi-autos suck in my opinion and I've owned a few.

Again, just my personal experience.

This was a question about an M&P. Have you ever owned an M&P?

No but my pal Tom does and I've shot it.
Didn't care much for it. Rather have my wife's Sig or one of my Glocks any day.
Actually I'd rather have my Model 66 or my Model 629 over ANY auto any day.

Great guns

I have two... one a .45 and also in 9mm. Both GREAT guns. They are very accurate and fit well in my hands (and I have small hands). The interchangeable grip is a great feature. Trigger pull is a tad tougher than I like so I had mine eased up a bit... just a personal preference. For most people the trigger pull should be good. Just remember though, lighter trigger pulls can be dangerous!
