Ruger Hawkeye 35 Whelen

Hawkeye 35 shooters:

My Hawkeye 35 has a 1 in 16 twist and shoots the full range of .358 bullets very well. The heavies, the 200 grainers, all of them.
What's your experience?

I've also heard that Ruger made some Whelens with a 1 in 12 twist but I can find no documentation to back this up. Anybody here ever seen one?

My remington 700 classic has a 1:16 twist. Only shot 200 grain factory remington corelocks out of it. It seems to shoot a good group @ 100 yards.

My bad. I meant to ask ALL 35 Whelen shooters the question. Not just Rugers.

I have a the hawkeye in 35 whelen as well. I have only shot the 200 gn superformace and the 180 vortex in mine. Both do well and I hope to experiment with a heavier load just incase. I love how this rifle shoots.
