savage axis 22-250 on GB $350 Nikon prostaff 3-9x40 on E-bay $150. And probably can beat them with a little shopping

Our local Sportsmans Warehouse has Savage 11's with the accu trigger and with a Nikon Prostaff scope for $489. IMO it's the best way to go if you need a scope and gun for under $500. Both will be of decent quality, and you can upgrade the scope later on when you save up more.
