300 ACC or .223/5.56

Which would you chose or prefer for predators, hunting in general and/or overall in general and why.

Just like RR said, 223/5.56 in either 8 or 7 twist. Reason being that you are able to stabilize the heavier bullets for a variety of reasons and purposes.

I personally don't see a purpose for the .300 blackout, unless I were a covert operator that wanted something under 1100fps. For deer, there are better "medium caliber" choices in the AR-15 platform, for coyotes, there's no need for 125grn+ bullets at all, and the slow speeds attained by the Blackout is just silly. 20moa drop by 500yrds with a 125grn pill? WTF? Why?

.223rem all the way. I run 9" twists, usually 50-55grn bullets for coyotes. Never felt the need for a heavier bullet, although I've ran 69-75grn pills for them. 8" twist if you want to run heavy bullets out of a shorter barrel. The only heavies I shoot are from 24" tubes, so getting the velocities high enough to stabilize isn't a challenge.

.223 / 5.56 with 8 twist

Just the ammo availability alone.................well right now I guess it doesn't matter. LOL

50-55gr bullet is perfect for predators; I have shot them with a .243 using 75gr V-max bullet and it puts them right down, but with considerable more pelt damage !!!

What he said...300AAC has a use, but not as a critter getter and certainly not for any distance on varmint... IMO.

Never understood the ACC/Blackout/Whisper/300 x 221 whatever its called today. Definitely the .223 fast twist

Correct me if I'm wrong but even loaded full up its lacking what you have in a 30-30

Probably works great in special ops.

One of my partners has 300 ACC to accent his 50 Bawolf (SP) and is looking at the 450 Thumper or 458 SOCOM. He does ADC work with hogs and deer and really likes the straight down, outright smack down they provide when working at night. No trailing when working in urban locals. His is shooting them on a Colt lower and has suppressors. His last one, the 300ACC is on a RRA lower. I have shot it several times, compared to his 50 Bawolf, it really don't impress me. Less recoil is the only to me it has going for it over the 50.
