WTS: Combination O/U 12ga over 6.5X57mm Rimmed
I can’t believe it, but I’m selling my Sabatti Combination O/U, 12ga over 6.5X57mm Rimmed.
This is an Italian made O/U. EAA imports Sabatti SXS double rifles with MSR prices starting at $6,000.00. Only reason I’m selling it is because I just bought another combination gun: Valmet in 12ga X .223 Rem. I purchased this Sabatti new in Germany in 1993. It spent most of its time in my gun safe. The shotgun barrel has maybe 20 rounds through it. The rifle barrel has maybe 100 rounds, all mostly for load development off a bench. I shot one whitetail and 4 or 5 coyotes with this gun. The complete receiver is coin colored and engraved, as is the trigger guard and break open lever. One side has a wild boar scene. The other side has a red stag scene. It has double triggers. The front trigger is a set trigger for the rifle barrel. It can be used normally or pushed forward to set it. The set is several ounces. The second trigger is for the shotgun barrel. It has a full length solid rib with a flip up rear sight and front ramp and gold bead. At the breech it has the typical 11mm European dovetail for a scope mount. I had a gunsmith make and install a picitinny rail on this dovetail. This Sabatti is in near excellent condition, with a few handling marks on the wood. Metal is 99% or better. Only metal distraction are the holes that were drilled and tapped for the picitinny rail, if removed. It has a Redfield 5 Star 2X7 scope mounted on it. The scope is included in the price, if you do not want it, I’ll deduct $75.00 from the price and keep the scope. The 12ga barrel is 2¾” and full choke. The rifle barrel is 6.5X57mm rimmed and will shoot under one inch groups with hand loads. Last load I developed using 100 grain A-Max bullets shot clover leaf groups. Reloading dies go with the gun, plus almost 100 pieces of RWS brass, mostly loaded; and some fire formed .30/40 brass. 7X57 and 8X57 rimmed brass can be purchased from Midway; just run through the sizer die, load and fire to form cases. The 6.5X57 case has a shoulder slightly more forward than the 7X57 or 8X57 cases. Running 7X57 or 8X57 brass through the dies creates a second shoulder to hold the case while fire forming. I also form cases from .30/40, by just running them through the sizer die, trim to length. The .30/40 case rim has to be reduced by .015”. I just put them in a drill and use a file as they rotate. I’ve loaded a number of pictures to show the condition and slight handling marks on the shaft and forearm. There is one small chip on the pistol grip. The rear stock has some handling marks and oil markings from oil that stepped down the stock while in storage. The forearm has one handling mark on the right front. This is a quality firearm, $1,800.00 firm. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
