Should be able to get into a new Savage Axis of Marlin xs7 for about that sort of money.

I bought my Savage Axis with scope from Bud"s for $264.00 plus shipping and $15.00 to my local fed firearms dealer. Trigger could be lighter. These prices were before the gun panic.
