PLZ help us impeach our Gov.(NY) for infringment on our 2nd Amendment
 

Guys, I'm posting this here because this soon could happen in any state. New York(my home state) is trying to set an example for gun control. It is happening fast and we need this guy(Gov.Andrew Coumo) out of office. Please help us instead make an example outta him. The link I posted will take you to the petition page. If the law is declared unconsitiutional then the supreme court in your state will throw it out. Frankly the constitution doesn't guarentee you the right to carry 8 rounds or more in your magazine. Such things were not yet contrived in the 1780s.

As far as I know, you cannot impeach a governor simply because you don't like the fact that he supported a bill that your legislature passed into law. Moreover, it seems to me that your states electorate(the majority of them anyway) is actually quite pleased with the outcome.

nys---You're not playing nice when all the gentleman did was state a few basic facts that are true! That's what happens in states that have huge city based and minority populations that believe in the Lib movement, entitlements, etc.

nys-buckstalker... I hear ya. I'm a former upstate NY'er (I grew up in Poughkeepsie. My wife is from the suburbs outside of Buffalo. Still got family scattered all around NY State). Anyway, I honestly believe there are more people voting in NYC than there are in the whole entire state!

I was born and raised in Western NY. I moved out in 1976 because I hated the politics and taxes. NYC runs the show and now Coumo is grandstanding and politicking because he wants to be the future President. I feel sorry for you NYS dwellers. Time to pack up and move out.

It really doesnt supprise me about New York though, if you are a New Yorker you have no rights. You can be illeagly searched when walking down the street, they banned Big Gulps and Super Sized meals because they beleive you are not capable of making a healthy choice on your own. So honestly people did you think they wouldnt ban assualt weapons there? And where did they come up with a 7 round limit? Who pulled that number out of there rear?

A lawmaker in my state has filed a bill that would make enforcing a fed gun ban a crime.
One of 3 states to do so so far.

The only problem with that is federal law supercedes state law. Kinda like the marijauna laws in Washington and Colorado, it is leagle according to the state but it is still a Federal crime, the feds can swoop in and bust them anytime they want.

Lived on L.I. for 55yrs.,moved out last July. I DONT MISS IT!!!!!! NYS sucks. The politicians are some of the WORST in the country. On LI the pols are some of the most corrupt POS i've ever seen.

They (politicians) can't make the fair decision on any issues,from taxes to illegal imigration,to housing codes,you name it they've screwed it up!!! You think you're get a fair shake on gun controll,forget it.

You're right, IME these type of petitions go nowhere. What you need to do is send a physical petition (written on paper) to your senators,(Schumer & Gilly,what a roll over she turned into) and flood their desk with paper!! It makes it harder to ignore physical contents.

Yep, petitions aren't squat and there is no sense in an out of stater signing one of them since they aren't voters in the state where the petition was started to begin with!

Double check what you're saying here. If the voters with this mindset were the minority, at a state level at least, they would not be able to swing the popular vote.

In NY, it's a shame that so many people are brainless in NYC, but this isn't a case of the few ruining something for the many, it's a case of the many ruining something for the few. Unfortunately, that's the way democracy works.

Get vocal. Online petitions won't do a d@mn thing. Get on the phone, send letters, emails, and call every friend, relative, ex-girlfriend etc etc you know to do the same.

I read this on another forum and I find it very odd. Why or how is it New York can go above and beyond the feds on gun control but Arizona can't go above and beyond the feds on illegal immigrants?

Nomercy448---You are not quite following me on my post when I mentioned "minority polulations". They are a minority in the rural, less populated areas where guns are used for hunting and shooting by many, but they are the majority of the "overall" population of the entire state and that's how guys like BO get elected and things like this gun control happen. Look at the demographics of where most of the votes come from that elect most Libs---big cities on the two coasts and a few big ones in between!

Never been to NYS or even plan on it. But what I will say is that now others are getting a taste of what we here in Illinois go through with Commicago running the rest of the state.
When 98% of the state during elections was red and only a handful blue ran the overall electoral vote for the state. :nonono2:
