Remington 770 magazine
Hey guys!
Anybody having any issues with their Remington 770 mags. Mine keeps on opening. Just replace? Suggestions? |
Replace the whole bloody gun. Not trying to be a wise guy, but wait until the bolt handle breaks off next on that POS!

I didn't say it wouldn't shoot accurately, but just wait until the bolt breaks next. I'm not bashing him at all, but just suggesting he get another rifle before he has more troubles as they are just what I said! Read all the reviews on them and all the problems people are having with them and you'll see why I made the response I did. Remington should be ashamed to put their name on it!

I don't disagree that the quality is below Remington's other bolt guns and they shouldn't offer it. In reality, many many hunters shoot less than a box per year and only go in the woods a couple times a year. For this crowd, the 770 will most likely serve them well.

I can't argue with that other than to say that the 770 still has the Walker trigger in it that has caused them grief with at least 20 deaths and a lot of accidents by thousands of owners over the last few decades blamed on the bad design. To put them in the hands of people that don't handle guns much like you mentioned is just asking for more trouble IMHO!

I personally own 2 700's with the "Walker trigger", both have zero creep or overtravel, break at a clean 3 lbs. Both have a 1000+ rounds through em, neither have ever went bang unless I wanted it to. Millions of 700s out there with nearly all having zero issues.

That's what tens of thousands of other people have said before they had an accidental discharge. Why do you think Remington changed the trigger on all but that cheapo 770? They wouldn't ever admit to the problem, but took care of it before a class action lawsuit might have bankrupted the company! |
