Attachment 24330 this is a pic of both boxes.

from what I can tell it just looks like a newer box. the writing is all the same. I think they would fly the same.
|
the express is the box I've been gettin the box that just says core lokt is the box I got today but they should hit close if not the same.
|
They're the same bullet. Notice the 5 digit number on the end panel that's the same on both boxes. If they were a different bullet style, the numbers would not be the same.

Did you shoot a few to determine if the POI is the same?
Don't take the word of others as gospel. At least when yer shooting at game , paper that's another story. |
"Did you shoot a few to determine if the POI is the same?
Don't take the word of others as gospel. At least when yer shooting at game , paper that's another story." That should be done any time you open a new box of ammo even if you know they're the same. Many guys will buy a few boxes of the same lot number that's on the inside of the end flap at one time just because they were made at the same time under the same conditions. |
I'll shoot a couple of um before i take them huntin.

I'm starting to think that Remington has dropped the "Express" line of ammunition.
The R30062 is an index number, which corresponds to a bullet/load/round count, basically identifying the product for sale. For example, I use Remington UMC 50grn JHP's out of one of my AR's for plinking, I buy the 40rnd box that says: L223R8B. I called Rem once about it because I could only find the 20rnd box on the shelves around, which is labeled: L223R8. It's the same load, confirmed with Remington, just a different packaging, hence the "B". So I'd personally say that the R30062 refers to the Remington Core-loct 30-06 20rnd box with the same load, no matter what the box labeling looks like. |
I bought some .243 win the other day and didn't notice the word "Express" until I got them home. It sure gave me pause!! All I could think about was the 7mm Express and how easy it would be to confuse some of these cartridges. I finally took out the caliper and measured; its 243 win. 7mm mauser is not the 7mm express; one word out of place and a guy will not be having a good day when pulling the trigger.

Core-Lokt
I've used them both in the past. They're exactly the same, it's just a marketing tool by Remington.

I don't know if this means anything. I have a box of Remington Exprss Core Lokt 6.5 x 55 bought in Michigan and I have a box of Reminton Core Lokt 30-06 bought in Canada. Do you suppose that has anything to do with it. The 30 06 are made by Dupont in the USA.The Express box doesn't say who makes them.

I've shot CoreLokts in my .243 since 1980...
I always take the first two bullets out of the box and shoot them to make sure THAT box shoots were it should...I then write the date on the back of the box and how high it shot at 100 yards...I typically sight in 2-2 1/2 inches high at 100 yards... This way, if I'm using the same box 3 years later and want to recheck my zero, I have a record of where THAT box shot... You can buy the same loading and lot numbers but sometimes there will be a difference in where they land on the target... |
