I bought some .243 win the other day and didn't notice the word "Express" until I got them home. It sure gave me pause!! All I could think about was the 7mm Express and how easy it would be to confuse some of these cartridges. I finally took out the caliper and measured; its 243 win. 7mm mauser is not the 7mm express; one word out of place and a guy will not be having a good day when pulling the trigger.

I don't know if this means anything. I have a box of Remington Exprss Core Lokt 6.5 x 55 bought in Michigan and I have a box of Reminton Core Lokt 30-06 bought in Canada. Do you suppose that has anything to do with it. The 30 06 are made by Dupont in the USA.The Express box doesn't say who makes them.

I've shot CoreLokts in my .243 since 1980...
I always take the first two bullets out of the box and shoot them to make sure THAT box shoots were it should...I then write the date on the back of the box and how high it shot at 100 yards...I typically sight in 2-2 1/2 inches high at 100 yards...
This way, if I'm using the same box 3 years later and want to recheck my zero, I have a record of where THAT box shot...
You can buy the same loading and lot numbers but sometimes there will be a difference in where they land on the target...
