Which company makes the best stock?

Forget the trigger, bolt, barrel and all that stuff. Which wood stock do you prefer on a rifle? Best wood, fit and finish, design???

Your thoughts???

Wood...Joel Russo or Accurate Innovations.

Boy this is a can of worms, lol. Its very subjective, as everyone has their tastes, etc, and each maker puts out some nice work, but no two stocks are the same.

on a factory rifle, i like my old NEF huntsmen muzzleloaders stock. it looks like a boat paddle but guess what, i can hack at it with a hacket and it will still look like a boat paddle. all kidding aside even after picking up a replacement i still bring that gun with me most hunts as a backup. it has been hunting with me since the start. take a guess how many stratches the finish has taken over all these years? absolutely none. yes the wood has taken some dings but the hard birch is so strong they are barely visible. i put strength and durability above all else and because of this i rate that stock highest. lowest on my list is ruger. the finish on my no.1 can be stratched with my thumbnail. the wood is so soft i can probably rub the checkering off the stock. and the checkering is another story. great stock to look at, poor to hunt with.

this is my current "safe queen" and shes just a factory stock. cz 550 lux
