QUIK SHOT?????

CCI makes a .22 rimfire shot (called QUIK SHOT) that breaks into 3 parts? -- what are these like for spread and killing power for a rabbit? I know the #12 shot in a .22 would take all it can to kill a squirel from 20' .

SEAQ Welcome to the board, The Quik Shot is one projectile which breaks up on impact.Unless I misread the way you ment it. I take it you think it seperates when leaving the barrel since you asked about the spread. It does break up in three pieces but only when it hits it' s target. This was how I was explained it sometime back. For rabbits I would use regular 22' s solid or HP' s.The Quik Shot is to expensive to waste when regular 22' s will do what' s needed.

I have used the Quick Shots in a .38special. They were first marketed by Trition. If I HAD to carry a .22lr for a mouse gun/defensive gun then I might think about them. I wouldn' t use them for hunting though.

The bullet breaks into three seperate pieces once it impacts on a fleshy like substance. A good round for home defense and such in handguns. I don' t see too much use in it for rimfire though.. just my .02

SEAQ ,
I have the .22 version , and they will work for rabbit and squirrel . But as TScottW99 and RR pointed out , they aren' t any better than normal rounds . They can really tear up the carcass on both , especially squirrels . They would make an ideal small round for a pocket defense pistol though .
