Amen Bro! That video is BS and I said about the same thing on another thread when a person mentioned doing something similar when trying to zero a rifle.

Hey good to see there is someone hunting in NKY with me! I have done most of my hunting in Pentelton, campbell, and bracken counties in the past. I'm more of a bow hunter but still fall back on my rifle when need be. I have a Savage 112 (could be 111) in a .270 with acutrigger and I love it. It is a big round with knock down power that still has the ability to shoot 300 with enough practice. From experience I would stay away from a 30-06. If they come within 25-30 yards it will have to hit something real hard to get the round to expand.... trust me on this one. Also if you want something that is a little more finess don't forget the .243. Though it is smaller and has less knock down power with the right round that are pretty nasty. That actually seems to be the round of choice around where I hunt. Most like the Hornady V-max. one of my Coyote guns is a Rem 700 22-250 that is a great gun at long distance, but they are pretty heavy.

All that being said I have shot a 25-06 a couple times and it seems like an extremely straight shooting gun.

I completey agree with The Remington 700 , a Fantastic Rifle . The caliber you mention is a two very good one the .308 will get out there , have you given the .270 any thought ? You should give the .270 some serious thought .

As my rifle is nearing arrival I think I've settled in on the Nikon Buckmaster. I think it will do the job.
