reloading, how to start

If a guy wanted to start reloading what would he need to start. And how do you know what to do? I am very interested in balistics, and not sure I am happy with the factory ammo out there. What would I need to do in order to start. What equipment do I need, how do you know what type of powder to use etc... Thanks

RE: reloading, how to start

I strongly suggest you find someone that knows reloading and lean on him for coaching.....It' s not terribly complex but you need to get basics down and without misunderstanding. I' m reminded of a guy that loaded a bunch of .303 Brittish with 800-x.....thank god he asked before he shot them.

I agree, Lyman has a good manual but I prefer Hornady' s. I strongly recommend the RCBS Rockchucker kit. It' s fine stuff and lasts a lifetime. I assume you want to reload metallic rifle or pistol shells.

Let us know what cartridge you wish to reload and you' ll get lots of advise here.

If you can' t find someone to show you how to handload, Sierra makes a instructional VHS tapes (" Introduction to Rifle Reloading" #474-935, Introduction to " Handgun Reloading" #680-599, " High-Power Rifle Reloading" #256-721 " Reloading 1: Basic-Intermediate" #543-327). Go to www.midwayusa.com Good luck.
