Mossberg 835 barrel

I recently purchased a Mossberg 835 pump-action shotgun. After shooting some 20 rounds the barrel is now loose. It has a good 1/32" play from front to rear. Is this normal? Will it cause any operational issues?
Thank you.

If you haven't figured out yet what they are saying when they ask if you have tried to tighten it, they're talking about the large "nut" that holds the barrel assembly on the stock/action. Just give it a slight clockwise turn and you should be able to tighten the barrel up and will probably hear a click or two as you do it if it's like my Model 1200 Winchester. If you unscrew it by turning it counter clockwise, you should be able to take the barrel right off. If you're a typical guy, I should ask: "Have you read the instruction manual that should have come with the gun?", LOL!

Well i contacted mossberg and they said that was normal with the barrel being a little lose. I looked at the gun again and decided to put a small oring under the magazine nut.

"I've never heard of loose being normal!!!!!!"

Neither have I and I think the OP got someone on the phone that didn't know what they were talking about. I'd try what I mentioned if the gun is designed like my Winchester or take it to someone who works on Mossbergs and can take a look at it.
