Bolt actions in rifles and semi-auto or O/U in shotguns

[I love to shoot either one,but I carry the bolt most of the time.Took my biggest buck and made my longest shot on a deer with a Rem 742 in 30/06.

Bolt, then semi, then pump.

Bolt or single shot, followed closely by lever action.

Lever action followed by semi-autos. I never have cared for bolts. Accuracy with my levers has been superb. Just ask the deer I hunt.

I have been surprisingly happy with a couple pump-guns that I have. They're accurate, safe and reliable.

I also like singles. I'm not a bolt fan, because I'm a lefty, and have never found one that I like.

My favourite to use is the autoloader, however, repeated incidents of jamming have led me to change the action type that I WOULD use.

I'd now rate actions as follows:

1) Lever
2) Pump
3) Autoloader
4) Double
5) Single (break)
.
.
.
23) The BORING old bolt action

Depends on application.

Accuracy, target: Bolt
Defensive carbine: Semi-auto
Coolness: Lever

cogito, ergo armatus sum.

Only used bolt and lever so my choice for dependibility and not worrying about safety is lever. However its hard to find a good lever so I'll go with bolt for now.
