I have a 110 in .243 with a Simmons 3-9x40 scope and love the way this rifle shoots,( <1 in. groups @100 yds).
For the money the Savage is the most accurate rifle in it' s price range.
As for hunting with it if I do my part it does it' s part, I have taken deer and they never traveled more than 25 yds after being hit.
I use only 100 gr bullets as this rifle doesn' t seem to like anything lighter (it shoots high left with 80 gr bullets and even lighter bullets aren' t on the paper so I use 100 gr exclusively).

i' ve got 4 savages , and i' ve only had one problem with the one , it' s my model 99c in .243 that had a safety problem , it' s one of the last model 99' s that they made, every time i fired it the safety kicked on automatically after i pulled the trigger , i couldn' t even open the lever when that happened :D:D, other than that , they' ve been very accurate and reliable :D:D:D

I have a 110 30-06 and ever since I sighted it in the first time, its never had to be re-adjusted. I do plan on pulling the 32mm Scope off and putting a new Mueller 4-12x50 Scope on it though to gain more light.
I read a review that said the savage combo was the best buy for under $500.
