It is ideal in a WTSHTF scenario...
Actually in that sort of situation I would prefer a semi over a bolt action.

Have to agree it would be fine in the timber but would not be my choice on the prairie.
It probably comes down to personal preference but in cover I would rather use my 30-30 lever gun. I don't like magazines poking me when hunting. But YMMV.

The Scout concept is a short-action tactical rifle that can also be used in a combat situation.
Kinda like an M1Carbine with some actual horsepower.
Odd as it may sound, I think a better chambering for it would be .243 or 7mm-08 and an 18" barrel.
as far as .308 and a 16" barrel, well, that flash hider is on the muzzle for a reason...

And as far as that goes, I think the whole thing is a copy of the SMLE #5 "jungle carbine"
