Inconsistent trigger pull

I recently purchased a Browning A-bolt 30-06 and topped it with a Zeiss 4.5-14x44 scope (nice scope, but not awesome). The trigger is set near the lightest pull, however, about 1/3 of the time it requires about twice the normal pull to release. Have used two different trigger lubes to no avail. Anyone else had this problem?

Jacol,
You are only one small spring away from trigger nirvana!

I, just recently, found myself in the same boat you are now in. I had a Browning A bolt Hunter with a creepy/stiff trigger, however, I purchased a Basix spring kit, installed it myself (in ten mins or less), and walked away a happy man. A small screwdriver and a small diameter punch/drift is all you need; easy! Nothing complicated: 1/2 star on a 5 star scale. It now has a two pound pull; awesome! They aren't cheap; $18.25 which included shipping. Google=browning a bolt basix spring kit
