Ruger Mini 14 Target: accurate?
 

I am looking for a varmint/target rifle accurate out to at least 200 yards and came across the Mini-14 Target. Is the rifle as accurate as Ruger claims? I have seen a few of the videos online, but just wanted to hear from anyone who's shot one.

About a year ago I began saving up for a .223/varmint/SHTF rifle. I eventually decided on the AR. The more I read about the mini the less appealing it became - which is a shame, I love the look of the "Ranch Rifle."

You will have more choices with the AR. Granted the initial purchase price is more than the mini but in the long run you will be happier.

To answer your question, no I have not shot the mini Target rifle.

i have also been eyeing down that same gun. the link i am about to post is probably one you have seen. but this guy does great gun reviews and i'm sure he will answer this question in the video.

There are good ones and bad ones...I have 2...one shoots MOA or better, the other...well, not so good. That being said, I also have 2 AR's (a Bushmaster and a Rock River)...the Bushmaster shoots no better than the worse of the two Mini's, and the Bushmaster has a Pac-Nor barrel and upgraded trigger. On the other hand, the Rock River shoots sub-MOA all day long. Bottom line...you can have good and bad Mini's and AR's. I prefer the feel and look of my Mini's over the AR's...but that Rock River AR is a very nice weapon, but it ran me close to $1400.
