Sako 243
I don't know much about Sakos outside of there supposed to be in the top half of the working gun market. A guy at work asked me about the value of a late 70s w/a similar vintage Bushnell and a GI style leather sling. Showed me a couple of pics that looked like little to no blue wear on the scope or metal and a double border diamond/banner forend and banner pistol grip. I'd call it a medium sporter vs a walking varmiter as the forend is round vs flat.
Any value guesses? I figured 3- 400 in the market 325-350 if I was buying adjust for hands on. Do the 243s eat throats up like the 22- 250 or are they more like the 250 Savage or 308 ,presuming factory ammo and nominal loads rather than a steady diet of full tilt ground hog misters. |
Saw one of that vintage at a gun store a few years ago with rings, but no scope. It was listed at $600.

Sako's are fine guns. I own a couple.

No, and a excellent predator gun that can double as a deer/pig & pronghorn rifle. BTW - they can also hold their own from the bench. |
Look it up on gunbroker.com to see what they are selling for.
