Affordable Over/Under?
I was wondering if anyone out there knows of any over/under shotguns that are somewhat affordable. I don' t need a real fancy gun or anything, just a good quality o/u. Anyone know any websites or anything?

RE: Affordable Over/Under?
Wal-Mart carries one, not sure the make. It looks good. I think they are in the area of $500.00. When I worked at Academy Sports and Outdoors, we had a Silma that was a very nice gun for $525.00. Only thing is, most of these guns, whether Italian made like the Silma or not, cut costs somewhere. The Silma did not have a barrel selector, or auto-ejectors. You had to pluck them out after firing.
I bought a Franchi Veloce at a gun show a couple of years ago for $900.00 NIB. Man that gun is pretty!!!!! Beautiful wood, deep rich bluing, engraving everywhere, and a skeletonized lever to open the action. I think they run about $1,300.00 normally. So there are deals out there on quality, top of the line guns. |

Jack, you ever shoot the Traditions? Just wondering. When I was at Academy, we got in four Traditions semi-autos. All four were junk and went back. One, after it made it out of the store and was brought back. The other three never got put on display. I couldn' t even get one put together out of the box. What junk they were.

In an O/U there' s one economical gun today....it' s SKB 505
anything less is just that....less!! |
RE: Affordable Over/Under?
You might look at www.eaacorp.com I was given one as a gift and it has been a very good gun to shoot so far. I have done better hitting the clay targets with this shotgun than any of my others.

Yes Danny 45 I have shot and owned a Traditrions auto,I think I paid 249.99 for from a sporting goods store. It worked ok, it was not a Beretta or Benellie. It killed birbs and geese what else do you need.
Plinker ask dose any know of a cheap O/U,not quality.Traditions makes a deccent O/U,it shoots and kills birds what else do you need.No frills,it dose have ejectors.I have also shot those Italian made O/U,and S/S and yes the are not a A.H. Fox or Merkkells but they shoot and work. |
RE: Affordable Over/Under?
I got a new Lanber 12ga o/u just before last years dove season and I love it. It was brand new . . and about $500 (actually I traded in an old Mossberg so I only paid $350).
But I really like it, like the finish, like the details . . . . chokes (comes with 5), barrel selector and auto ejector. I' ve never had any problems with it. www.lanber.net |
