Default Stainless/Synthetic rifle opinions

Looking to pickup a new stainless/synthetic rifle for whitetail deer hunting. Rifle will be chambered in 270 Winchester. I have a spare Zeiss Conquest to top it off with. Found a pretty good deal on a stainless Tikka. Any thoughts or opinions?

Everyone online says the Tikas are great. Usually if something isnt great people arent afraid to say it online.

I have a Weatherby vanguard syn/ss that I love. Now they came out with the series 2 and they sound even better. Cant go wrong for the price.

Hunting buddy of mine bought his first Tikka this past summer. He has been an avid hunter for well over 20 years now. He ahs shot it a bunch at the range trying to find the "sweet grouoing" load. He is getting great groups with several factory loads. His is in 7 mm Rem. Mag. He and I will be hunting together in Texas this fall. He is going to bring the Tikka.

Tika would probably be a good one... also consider the Model 70 EW. I have a new Feather weight in 270 and it shoots great..

I bought a Tikka last fall in 270 WSM. It was an impulse buy as I am a lefty and had been looking for a 270 WSM in left. I can't say enough good about the rifle...love the trigger (and it took all of 2 mins to adjust it just right), the weight and balance are also good. I topped mine with a 3-9x50 Nikon and it handles and shoots nicely.

Right out of the box with factory premium ammo (Federal's loaded with 140g Nosler Ballistic tips) it shot a 1" group through the first box. Took it home and loaded some 130g Nosler AccuBonds to hunt with and after 4 test loads, which all shot under 1.5" groups found an awesome combo with H4831sc. The rifle killed 7 deer last year (4 for me and 3 by a friend visiting on a hunt) and it preformed well.

Hard to beat for the price. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat. I would however also consider some of the new Savages as great options as well.

I agree. The Sako A7 is a very nice rifle. I believe Tikka owns Sako? Sako rifles have always been one of my faves.

I also like what Savage has been doing lately. They are building really nice rifles these days. They rival Remington anymore in my opinion.

My favorite riflemaker these days is Kimber though. Made here in the good ole US of A. I have been wanting a Select Grade in .270 for awhile now. Hope to scratch that itch this fall.

They are a little pricey but I see you have a pretty expensive scope there. Why not slap it on a really nice Kimber? All of the Kimbers I've shot have been real shooters. I've shot a .243, 30-06, and 270 and they all shot inside a minute if I did my part. The triggers are very crisp and can be easily adjusted.
