$500 Browning A-Bolt Stalker - Good Deal?
 

I know of a new in box Browning A-Bolt Stalker in stainless/synthetic (7mm Mag) for sale for $500. Is this a good price? MSRP suggests $799, but I know those are typically a little high.

I don't have a huge itch for the rifle, but I thought for the price, it might be worth it. If $500 isn't a good deal, how about $450 or $400? I have a feeling I might be able to negotiate a little, so I'm just trying to figure out at what point I should bite.

Check on gunbroker.com and see what they are running. Also, a cheap place to look would be http://www.cdnninvestments.com/ . Click on the download catalog tab on the left. They have Abolt IIs in there on sale. If your price is as good as theirs or better, then you got a cheap price. I dont think the A bolts have been selling as well since the X bolts came out. I've seen a dealer here in town with $100-$200 off the regular price. I think they had an A bolt hunter(wood stock) in 7mm WSM for like $560 or about, after markdown.

It is definitely a good deal. It is quite a bit cheaper than the ones they sell at my local sporting goods store. If you feel you can talk him down more I say try it, it can't hurt. Those A-Bolts are great rifles they a very reliable & have more than proven themselves.

Yea thats a good deal. Id offer 450 but 500 still is good. The Abolt stakers go for around 550 for a blue one and 600 for staneless.
