I'm looking into buying a rifle for groundhogs and coyotes. So what is your favorite hi-power rifle?

.243 is a good choice as a "do-all" type.

Mine is a dedicated predator gun (coyotes mostly).

Another vote for the 243 and you could use it for deer as well.

I was using a .223, and i sent it off to be turned in a 6mmbr, the .243 cal's seems to buck the wind better than the .22's but isn't overkill, unless you build like a 6mm x.06 or bigger. Then you may have some big holes in your yote belts.

I have a vey nice 6MM and .223. Both do the job very nicely. Seems like the .223 gets used the most though. Can't go wrong either way IMO.

Well...I've only got one, a 243 Ruger Model 77...Only center fire I've had since 1980...It's killed a couple hundred deer, a half dozen bears, and a box car full of crows, groundhogs, foxes, coyotes and other critters...

Are you leaving them lay or selling the fur? If your selling the fur, 22.250. If your leaving them lay, .243.
