Savage Accutrigger 110 /220 slug trigger job?
 

Has anyone reduced the trigger weight of a savage accutrigger before?

I believe I read anyone can reduce trigger weight with the tool they provide, the question I have is getting to it, I assume you have to remove the trigger guard, but if you loosen up these screws do you completely mess up the bedding job? I've never done this so I'm not exactly sure how this works?

I've read you can reduce trigger weight down to 2.5lbs, factory set at 3.5 or 4lbs, I have to check the actual trigger weight.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I believe the savage 220 slug uses the savage 110 action.

It's a piece of cake, if you have the tool. It doesn't hurt a thing. You just pull the stock off and set it. Nothing to it.

I saw a video of it. Looked simple.

Are all rifles simply 2-3 screws holding the barreled action to the stock?

how does bedding play into this? this doesn't screw up the bedding ever?

I'm just surprised that's all it takes to connect the 2 together?

It's as easy as it looks. After you take it out of the stock and put it back, just make sure you check the poi before taking it on a hunt. If you don't torque the screws exactly the same, it can change the poi. However, 99% of the time I've done it, I've not seen a difference. The other 1% wasn't a big enough difference to matter hunting, but it's a good idea to check.

so on any rifle? can I just order a synthetic stock and replace it? with 3 screws and things will be good?

It's like buying the "correct" chokes for the "correct" make and model shotgun.

so can someone tell me what glass bedding, pillar bedding, etc... is? or how/why it's done?

I have to check the trigger weight, but assuming it's 3.5-4#, worth reducing to 2.5#??
