I have an XCR and I love it. I have mine topped with Leupold VXL scope 3.5-10x55 and the gun is a 270 WSM. It is very accurate shooting Winchester Supreme ammo...just a pleasure to shoot and lots of nice features. good choice.

Lucky Dog - that is an oustanding looking rifle and I doubt seriously that you'll be disapointed in how it shoots, it'll shoot as good as it looks--I'm no fan of the synthetic stocks, but I've shouldered those and they come up well and give you a good grip- very nice gun----john

.300Rum huh? Hold on tight brother! oh and wear some good quality hearing protection cuz that sucker is gonna be loud!

Congrats on a great rifle and caliber.......come to think of it, it's one of the few calibers I don't have.....hmmmmm ya got me thinking now LOL!

I like everything about it with the exception of the brake. No matter how hard I try I just can't warm up to them. They hurt my ears even with ear protection.
I am not trying to bash you as it's your rifle and you're the one who has to be happy with it. Hopefully it will shoot as good as it looks.

+1

Not a fan of muzzle breaks !

I'll take the recoil anyday !!!

..............but it's not my rifle.

Very nice! Looking forward to a range report.

Fom someone who learned the hard way......... If you are going to sight in, take a shoulder pad and some serious ear protection. It is difficult to shoot consistantly when you are dreading the next shot!

I know all to well about a muzzle brake. I put one on a 25-06 encore pistol and the first time I shot a deer with it I thought my ears were going to bleed. Never even gave it a thought. When target shooting I always had protection on but when hunting it was a different story. Haven't taken the gun back out in 6yrs. Nice looking rig you have though. Good luck

Well I will take my chances on the shot before I ruin my hearing. My friends .243 with the BOSS had my ears ringing for several days after he shot a coyote while near me. If someone is hunting with a brake I make sure they are a loooooong way away from me. Anyways I hope the rifle shoots for you.
