Remington 11-48

At the local pawn shop they have a Remington 11-48 in amazing shape. At a good price I believe, I think I could get it for $200 or a little less. Does any guns nuts have some insight?

I've seen them before.... Produced from after WW2 till around 1970 or so I think. Seem to have been decent shotguns, but I don't have any experience with them other than seeing and talking about them at gun shows.

Excellent shotgun. Long recoil action similar to the Browning Auto-5.

They are fine guns...If it is in excellent shape, that is a bargain price...

This was basically a redesign of the Model 11 (A5 clone), and was one of the fore runners of the 1100....as previously stated, it is recoil operated. Remington made them from 1949 to 1969.

Around here, they are going from about $275-$325 in very good to good condition......that's for 12 gauge models; lesser gauges tend to bring more $$$ (the gun was made in 12, 16, 20, 28, and .410).

If your looking for a good field gun, I wouldn't hesitate.

Gosh, in 1966 I bought a 11-48 .410 like New condition for $90 and like a fool sold it in 1975 for $125........Wish I still had it!

These shotguns were the predecessor to the 1100. They were good reliable semis.
