On non-magnum calibers what barrel length do you guys prefer ?

That would depend on the caliber.

25-06=26" barrel.
270-Winchester= 24" barrel.
30-06= 22" barrel.

As a rule of thumb;

22" to 24"

Only one pick 24"

26" barrels are my cup of tea. Even my 22lr's have 27" barrels.

Depends on the chambering. Not all non-magnums are the same.
A 220 Swift is gonna require a much longer barrel than the .308 Winchester.

I agree with Blackelk. 24" is okay for a non-magn um. 26" are best. I like that this is the trend these days. When I used to have non-magnums they were all 22" and even the magnums were 24". You lose some velocity. 26" are where the ballistic data used by all the ammo manufacturers comes from.
