scope mounted AK

Guys is it possible to mount a scope on a AK? Am looking at getting some thing like this, inexpensive, fun to shoot, does not have to MOA, any suggestions?

I believe so. I was over at my dads house the other day and was looking at some of his Shotgun News magazines and I am pretty sure I saw some scope mounts for them. I am going over there tomorrow after work, I will look again and make sure. If I am right I will write down the manufactor and the address and let you know.

The short answer is "Yes" you can mount a scope on your AK. However it's a whole lot easier if the AK comes with the rail that accepts the standard AK type scope mount. Most of the Romanian AK's will have them and some of the others will too. If you have an AK without the scope mount attachment already on the left side of the receiver you can put one on but that involves drilling.

You can get the dust cover and rear sight attachment scope mounts but they are absolute junk and holding any kind of meaningful zero will be difficult. The receiver mounted mount is how the military that utilize the AK mount the scopes and it will hold zero perfectly. If you haven't already purchased an AK then buy one with the scope mount already attached and you will be way ahead of the game.....

There are dog legged picatinny type rails that mount to the rear sight base and to the rear of the reciever too. Do a google on AK scope mounts you will find a lot of options.
