Cleaning the copper out!

How often do you guys clean your bore with a copper solvent?

Do you do it when accuracy goes away, after a certain number of shots, once a year...

Every time I clean I clean with Wipe Out which is a copper solvent.

If I plan not to shoot the gun for a long while, I will clean it out.

But if I am actively working up a load or working on a rifle, or its hunting season, I will just clean out the powder and oil it.

Copper oxidizes faster than steel and leaving it in for years and years, can cause pitting.

I get hot on working on a gun and then put it away and might not pick it up for a year or more. Or forget.

Pretty much every time I shoot jacketed bullets, I clean the copper out. I will leave the bore dirty over deer season so I don't have to worry about the first shot from a clean barrel going elsewhere.

Cleaning for copper?

GOOD LUCK and GOOD SHOOTING!!!

Montana Extreme Copper Cream works pretty good but i limit how often i use it. Shooters Choice and Hoppes both offer a copper remover for more frequent use or for soaking over night.
