Default Weatherby Accumark opinions......

I have a hankering for a new rifle that could be a long range hunting rifle as well as a long range target rifle.....probably more hunting than targets.
I've always liked the look of the Weatherby Accumark, and I was thinking of getting one in a left handed model in .300 Weatherby Mag.
I know the CALIBER is VERY capable of being a long range hunting round....but what about the rifle?
It has a 1 1/2" accuracy guarantee....but I would be REALLY dissapointed if it didn't shoot WAY better than that.

Does anyone have any first hand experience with this rifle?

Then I would look elsewhere if I were you. Hell, the Vanguard Sub MOA rifles are guaranteed to shoot .99" or better and are half the cost of the accumark and IMO a better built and designed rifle to begin with.

I saw a nice 700 CDL in the classified section that some guy from Texas was selling for "financial reasons". He is asking $500 including rings. You could probably have a Face-To-Face deal.

The Accumarks are nice but rather heavy. If you're climbing or walking, bear that in mind. They are solid and well made though. The actions are not stainless (barrels are) if that matters to you.

I have a non backwards one (right hand) in .300 WBY mag. It shoots MOA or under as long as I do my part. That's with factory Weatherby ammo loads with either 165 gr Nosler BT or 180 gr AccuBond's.

They are one the heavier side but, it helps reduce the recoil. Quality wise they are well made and has very good quality. It has tighter tollerances than my Sako 75 which is another very good gun. I also like the short bolt throw.
