358 Winchester?
I' ve been thinking about getting a 358 Winchester for all of my whitetail hunting in a browning BLR. I' ve been giving this cartridge a lot of consideration because it seems to be a great mix between a big bore and a flat shooting, high velocity cartridge out to 200 yds.
Does the winchester factory ammo work well on deer? Does the bullet expand at all? Does it leave good bloodtrails on solid hits to the chest? How far do deer generally run after being hit? All comments/reviews/opinions are welcome. Thanks, ths78 |

RE: 358 Winchester?
If you can try out as many triggers as you can, a friend of mine purchased one and it has the worst trigger I have ever felt, and we can' t find anyone to do a trigger job on it. Good luck.

RE: 358 Winchester?
I would like to get a 358 Win, but I don' t care at all for lever guns with the exception of the Savage 99. I am planning on building a 358 Win on a Savage 110 action. You can get a 358 Win barrel from Midway for around $150 or so and all you need to swap it out is a barrel nut wrench and a set of Go/No-Go gauges. I think the 358 would be excellent hog medicine.
