RE: FFL License

I know it takes several months. My Dad had a gunshop for years, when he passed away I had a buddy that wanted to take the shop over, He had to have an established business, open and running several months before they would issue him a FFL, I guess this is one way they have to keep people from dealing in firearms from their house.

Heres a link that might help you out.

RE: FFL License

I' ve thrown the idea of getting an FFL around for years. After talking to friends who have or had them it' s just to much trouble. When Slick Willie was president he made it hard on small dealers. There is just so much red tape to me. It' s just not worth all the headaches. If I find a gun on the internet I' ll pay 20.00 for the transfer and forget about it.I can order ammuntion and reloading componients without an FFL. BATF can come at anytime to check records. Today you have to have a regular business and can' t work out of your home like people did sometime back.Unless you' re a high volume dealer you' ll not get any special deals from Distrubutors. They keep the big guys happy and the small dealer get what' s left over.Yah it would nice having a FFL if it wasn' t such a hassel.I think if you check into this thoughly you' ll find what I' m telling you to be true.I worked at a gun shop for awhile in S.FL. Believe me I' ve seen BATF in action a time or two..No it' s not for me.

Been there and done that . Was just to much of a hassel while living in Ca. I had to have five different licenses just to sell a gun and most of the time the savings for a small dealer wasn' t that much over what you can buy retail .
