Wow!

When his theory finished it, ought to be pretty interesting to see what algorithm he comes up with.

Regardless of which " killing power theory" bolsters or hurts your favorite cartridge he has " dissected and critiqued" them all with seemingly equal vigor, at least from a laboratory perspective. To his credit, he appears unbiased, well versed in physics and appears to be mathematically taking into account the modern technologies of bullet designs – something missing from most the “old timers”.

Conversely, I see his hunting experience appears to be limited to deer hunting, at least that is what his anecdotal hunting quotes seemed to center around. (He even admitted to losing two animals – unheard of on this forum [that gets him some honesty credibility points with me right there]). With that said, Taylor, Hoffman, Ackley, Wooters, and the others may not have been dedicated physics experts, but they were dedicated world class hunters and traveled around the world killing and observing the killing of more than just white tail deer and recording the results of a “real world” laboratory and THEN developing their theories and formulae accordingly. While, this gentleman appears to be working the science end of things hard and critiquing the work of others; he appears to lack a “full deck” of hunting experience. I many be wrong. Perhaps he has done 20 safaris and hunted on 5 continents with small bores through big bores – don’t think so – but could be.

I see his website ends with the introduction of what he will propose for his own model for killing power; however, that one is not yet available -- a work in progress – it better be pretty good given the critique he whooped on everyone else.

IN THE MEAN TIME, I don' t think one can sensibly dismiss all previous work without offering " something of value" (Ruark) to replace what is being discarded.

I look forward to reviewing and working with it when he has it done.

Ackley a " world class hunter" ?? I think not!! The article on killing power (with which I have some disputes) in his handbook was written by Paul Rosenburg, who WAS a hunter, NOT by P.O. himself!

O' Connor and Keith were, however, and Keith proposed the " pounds-feet" theory, which was momentum centerd. However, I don' t recall that Jack ever really got into this debate. However, he did say there' s no such thing as " knockdown power" !!
