Default What brand .270 WSM?

Hey guys, I'm getting ready to purchase a .270 WSM for whitetail hunting and possibly elk on down the road. Would like some input on what the best brand and model you guys have tried that is accurate and built well. Sako, remington, winchester, etc. Thanks guys.

Lots of variables. I'd suggest looking at a Sako Finnlight.

Im a Browning fan myself but unless you get an el cheapo you should have luck with most rifles out there. Just get what feels best to you. I have a Abolt Medallion and shoots sub MOA at 100 with 2 factory loads and with my reloads. Doubt you will do much better then that, although there are a lot of rifles out there that will equal it.

Here are a few suggestions; including getting a .270 not a short mag.

I'll second the Browning. A Savage rifle would be another good choice.

Third the Browning, second the Savage, consider a Weatherby. Depending on the conditions you will be hunting in, you may want a syn stock.

I have the browning x bolt and would recommend it to anyone. Absolutely love that gun. 130gr ballistic tips over max load of reloader 22 shoots flat and is unreal accurate.

Thanks everyone, I liked all of the Browning firearms that were made in Belgium, just not to keen on the ones made in japan. But as I said thats my opinion only, no pun intended. Anyway, I'm debating on a Savage, Sako, or possible remington. Any thoughts guys. Heard someone tell me to stay away from a Savage bolt action????

I had a Remington 700 in the short mag .270. The rifle was just fine. It was well built and plenty accurate, but the short mag just didn't do anything that a regular .270 Win would not do. It was a bit faster than the old .270, but not enough to be truly significant. I sold it.
