Browning BLR and BFR 30-30
I'm interested in another rifle, mostly for whitetail, wooded terrain, shots up to 125 yards are possible, scoped. My hunting partners mostly shoot 30-06, I have a Model 700 in 30-06, got pleanty of ammo, so I'd like to stay with that. I'm left handed.
Thoughts on the Browning BLR in 30-06??? Also, if the money train stops at my house, I would like a hunting revolver. As I have pleanty of 30-30 rounds, I was looking at the Magnum Research BFR, 10", chambered in 30-30. Any thoughts on a revolver in that caliber?? Thanks, |
i would look at a Remington 7600 pump in 30.06 or a plain old reliable, easy to carry, easy to shoot Marlin 336 in 30-30. Nothing better for short shots in the woods IMO.

I just picked up a BFR in .45-70. I have a fondness for this cartridge for some reason. Maybe because everything I've shot with it was pretty much history. This revolver looks like a bear and loading the cylinder the first time I thought "What did I get into?" But frankly, the recoil is not bad at all. I would estimate it is the same as a S&W 29, 4", 44 mag. After getting it sighted in, I went thru 2 boxes of ammo in no time. I say, if you want a BFR in 30-30, go get one. They are a blast. And accurate too.
