Anyone have any experience with the Ruger Compact Magnums (RCMs)? Are they doomed? Why do the guns have those rifle sights on the barrels. Can they be removed? I generally take the "road less traveled" on guns sometimes and I saw the RCMs as an opportunity (mainly in the .30 caliber department) to get a magnum gun in a light, compact package. I'll bet they kick like crazy.

have you checked out a Remington model 7 in 300 WSM or 350 Rem mag since you want a magnum in a light compact package

I'd get a 300 WSM over a .300 RCM,

If you really want a RCM, get the .338RCM it may have a chance...there's no factory 338wsm.
