Need help sighting in my 22 mag.

Hello Friends,

Just purchased a Marling 883 22 mag. I've got a Burris Fullfield fixed 4 power on top of it. I have no idea where to sight it in. With the fixed 4 I'm thinking dead on at 50 yards, however being new to the 22 mag I'm not sure. All help will be greatly appreciated as always.

50 yards dead on is just fine. I often shoot black birds and things that size at 50-75 yards. I wouldn't hesitate a bit to shoot a yote in the head at 100!

Great caliber, reasonable to shoot and typically super accurate. AND plenty adequate on small game and small varmits! Have fun with it, I sure love mine!

I would site it in for your average distant shots. I site in my .22 LRs at 50yrs but a 22mag I prolly go out a bit more.

I'd go with 100 yds.

The gun is certainly capable at 100 yards and maybe with a different scope I'd go to 100. I think a 50 yard zero with a 4 power scope is perfect.

It's not going to drop much at 100.

I would go with 50.The WMR is a really nice round but it's still just a .22 Rimfire not a cannon.

guess i would take in to consideration the distance that i will be shooting most of the time. if most of my shots are going to be at 50yds, then site in dead on at fifty! but learn your gun and shoot a bunch at 25, 75 and a 100, even 150yds, always aiming at the bullseye so that you can see how high or low you need to aim to hit the target at what ever distance that it happens to be at!
:cool2:enjoy!!!

I sighted my little NEF .22 mag in at 30 and it was dead-on again at 100 (obviously a bit high between 30 and 100, but not much). I was shooting Winchester Supreme 32gr rounds. I stepped off a shot that I'd made on a squirrel one time and it was right at 75 yards. I'm sure there was more than just a little good luck on my shoulders that day, or maybe just bad luck for the squirrel :)

Usually if you sight em in a 50yds, they will hot about the same at 100. I go with 1/2" high at 50.
