Default Ruger 10/22 loading problems

I have one of the Ruger 10/22 carbines and have been using it for target practice. When cycling the bolt, the rifle ejects one live cartridge for every one that it loads in the chamber. Is this a problem with the magazine, or with some other part of the rifle?

Any luck with this yet? I'm interested to hear what you find out. I've had to repairs needed on my 10/.22's, and both times Ruger fixed it, or sent me the part free of charge. SO, it won't hurt to call them.

It sounds like a magazine problem. Try a different magazine.

Try a different mag first. Those things are cheap.
