Remington Hevi-shot question
 

I' ve have been into metallurgy most of my life, even teaching some.
Can anyone explain how Remington can combine three metals, tungsten,nickel,iron, all lighter than lead, and come up with shot heavier than lead.

Well, I' m not sure how that could be, but I know it works. It' s an escellent load. I killed geese with it at Unbelievable yardage. The one was so far, I pulled the range finder out.....73 yards! (Improved cylinder shoke!)

I patterned it on paper for turkey ans was shocked on how well it grouped with a super full choke.

That' s the only shot I will use when I go goose or turkey hunting.

I have to agree that it does very well. Everyone that uses it, likes it.
There is obviously something that isn' t being told if, in fact, it is heavier than lead.
I guess I' ll have to waste a shell and weigh the contents.

I patterned my 12 ga. w/ 3 1/2 mags at 35 yards witha Briley Hevi-shot choke.
Federal Grand Slam #5 shot pattern was 27" with a bunch of flyers. Hevi-shot #5' s held a 15" pattern with relativlely no flyers.

When turkey hunting or duck hunting in GA I Only use hevishot. However I' ve hunt a lease in Eagle lake, TX for geese and can count on going through 100-200 rounds per week. When hunting flocks like that I' ll usually load my first shot or two w/ Hevi then back them up with steel or bismuth. But that' s just because that much Hevi-Shot is a bit too expensive for me.
