Brasner-" High Tech Specialties" stock?

I ran across the Brasner High Tech Specialties stock and it only weights 21oz compared to the factory 32 oz . Anybody here have one on their rifle? Like it/hate it?

Those that have them on their guns absolutely love them.... seems like 1/2 the hunting rifle gunsmiths use them and the other half use Mcmillan... They will finish out at 24 ounces and are very sturdy...

I' m leaning real strong to the Brasner. Any info on painting? Hard to paint? I understand they come in some shade of black.

The new unfinished stock blanks I have seen are a light grey in color. They need to be sanded and refinished. If you look at his website you' ll see he has the installation instructions in a PDF format. I like the finishes he puts on them but he is charging a bit much for a complete stock. Any paint you use on a Mcmillan you can use on these.
