I'm don't know what what they sell for now...I bought mine new in 1973, but my S&W M17 K22 sure is accurate... It shoots better than I can hold it...

S&W Model 41 Pre "A" Prefix.

Has it got to be a revolver??

I have a Ruger Mark II that I squirrel hunt with, and I only take head shots...

The problem with the Ruger Single Sixes it the barrel is bored for a .22 Mag, not a .22 Long...

I bought a S&W 22A about 7 or 8 years ago, and it's been a workhorse. It'll pretty much shoot hole in hole if you can hold it.

I have 2 barrels...one w/ a scope and one without. Sure haven't missed many squirrels with it.

I used to have a Taurus Tracker .22mag, then I traded it in towards a Tracker in .17hmr. I have had fantastic accuracy from both revolvers, and the price tag is such that you could buy TWO and stay beneath your spending limit.

My recommendation, even, is to buy the taurus, then use the rest of your budget on a scope, mounts, and rings. They're great shooters, and you'll quickly outgrow your own eye sight with these.
