Default Help me choose my next gun.

I'm got the itch to buy a new gun, but don't know what to get. The gun will be used for small deer out to 100-125 yards. I currently use these for deer:
308 BLR
12 Ga Slug semi auto
8mm Mauser bolt
50 Cal Inline
44 Mag redhawk
45 acp 1911
Marlin and Winchester 30-30s

What do you think I should add to my arsenal?

thanks, t

Nice 243. Nothing is funner than plinking and range shooting a 243 and getting great shot placement on a deer. Ammo is cheap and plentiful and you can afford to shoot a lot of smaller than deer game as well.

I'd find a new reason for a new gun, you have deer at 125yds covered...

with a .30-30 and .308...

Grab that 8mm Mauser (I'm assuming it's a M-98 Mauser) and remove the barrel and have a .25-06 barrel installed from Brownells.....(under $100)...add to it every year for several years until you have a full blown custom.....you'll not buy better!

Get outside the common stuff. 257 Roberts or 250 Savage

I would go with either the .243 or .257 Roberts. All will take deer and can also be used for varmints.Just match the bullet to the critter and you're good to go.

+ 1 for the .243 - doubles as a predator gun also.

If you want something really unique,go w/a 7-30 Waters in either rifle or Thompson single shot pistol. If you're not familiar w/this,its a 7mm on a 30-30 case. The ballistics are good considering case capacity. For hunting or plinking.
