What a weird 4-5 years this has been buying, selling, customizing rifles to fine "the one" that I like the best. I've been through Browning Stainless Stalkers and Remington XCR's (both outstanding rifles BTW!)
I'm a lefty, so the selection of stainless/synthetic/laminate rifles is a little slim. Just never could warm up to Savage rifles, although I believe they may be one of the most underrated companies for "out of the box" accuracy.
Although I loved the short bolt throw of the Browning and the beautifull lines of the Remongton 700's in the end I couldn't deny that the left handed Ruger Hawkeye just "fit" me the best out of all of them. I ordered a left handed stainless/laminate Hawkeye in .270 Win. today. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
Deer of East Texas beware!!!

And a fine cartridge to boot!! Im glad to hear you found something that worked for you. If you ever shoot right handed rifles lefty ( as I do) you should try the old ruger all weather boat paddle in .270 win. IMO by far the best factory all weather rifle I ever touched.

If your's shoots as well as mine (.280) you'll love it.I load myself but I did try some factory ammo. The Federal 150gr load shot so well I'm having a hard time bettering it with my reloads.Don't see that often.

seems they get a bad wrap. I had a ruger p89dc and loved the thing, I have had no trouble with my 10/22. I miss the p89dc every time I shoot my glock. Nothing wrong with the glock just miss the ruger since it was my first handgn
